Lucindale
The Centre of the Limestone Coast

Lucindale is centrally located in the Limestone Coast region, South East of South Australia. A small rural town with a very dynamic community spirit, Lucindale is well known for its Field Days, which are usually held the third Friday and Saturday of March at Yakka Park. The community, along with the Lions Club, rally their resources, talents and manpower together to host this event which brings more than 26,000 visitors to the township.

Also well known for its Tidy Town Awards, Lucindale was equal winner for 2004 Small Towns Category, and a finalist in Australia's Tidiest Town in 2006. The town boasts expansive green lawns, ideal for a picnic, as well as rose beds, fabulous gum trees, flora and fauna, all set in peaceful surround.

Within the district there are many lakes, natural parklands and Conservation Parks to cater for naturalists of all kinds, bird enthusiasts, bike riders, walkers, photographers, botanists, or four wheel drive enthusiasts. For the sporting enthusiast, there is golf on the magnificent 18 hole watered course at the Country Club, or perhaps a hit of tennis on one of the lush green lawn tennis courts.
Lawn bowls is available within the township and there is a challenging karting track on the outskirts of town. Camping facilities are available at Lucindale Caravan Park or the Lucindale Country Club Caravan Park.

A short drive for angling fun and activities at near by lakes and seaside towns. A half hour drive to see the Naracoorte Caves - inscribed on the World Heritage list in 1994 for the extensive fossil deposits found within the caves.

For historians, the Lucindale Historical Society has developed an outstanding Museum at the old Railway Station that records the areas diverse and dynamic history.

For a unique experience, 20km west of Lucindale visit Avenue Emus. A working Emu farm. Sample Emu Mettwurst.
